Challenges Experienced by VideoCrypt

• Ensuring Data Privacy for Student Information :

With multiple environments and fast content generation, maintaining consistent security and compliance standards became challenging. The lack of a standardized configuration management approach meant that each environment could potentially deviate from established security baselines, creating significant compliance risks. Manual tracking of infrastructure configurations was becoming unmanageable, leading to potential configuration drifts that could expose VideoCrypt to security vulnerabilities.

• Content Piracy and Digital Rights Management (DRM):

Content piracy represents a critical challenge for VideoCrypt, threatening the platform's revenue streams and the intellectual property rights of content creators. The key issues include digital rights protection complexities like preventing unauthorized screen recordings of premium content, blocking illegal downloads and redistribution and implementing multi layered encryption for video streams. These issues require a complex multi cloud security architecture to protect sensitive video content and implement robust encryption and compliance measures for content storage.

• Content Monetization:

It became difficult for Videocrypt to manage unpredictable infrastructure costs due to variable content consumption. It became important to scale cloud resources dynamically to handle content delivery peaks, implement cost efficient storage and streaming strategies and tracking and allocating cloud expenses across different content categories.

• Comprehensive Cloud Governance and Compliance Framework:

We implemented a robust cloud governance solution using AWS services to ensure consistent security and configuration management, which include AWS Config to continuously monitor and record AWS resource configurations, enabling real-time compliance tracking and automated compliance checking, AWS Organizations to centralize governance across multiple cloud environments, AWS CloudTrail for comprehensive logging and audit trails for all cloud activities and AWS IAM (Identity and Access Management) for implementing granular access controls with least privilege principles.

• Advanced Digital Rights Management (DRM) Infrastructure:

We designed a multi-layered security architecture to protect content and intellectual property by using AWS KMS for encryption key management, AWS CloudFront with signed URLs and signed cookies which enabled secure content distribution, AWS WAF for protection against potential content piracy attempts, AWS Shield for advanced DDoS protection and Multi-factor authentication (MFA) and role-based access controls (RBAC).

• Dynamic Cloud Financial Management:

We created a sophisticated cloud cost optimization strategy by using AWS Cost Explorer for detailed cost visibility and analysis, AWS Budgets to set up to track and forecast cloud spending, and AWS Savings Plans and Reserved Instances to optimize infrastructure costs.

Results:
